The Bird

Is it me or is she smirking here too?

Oh Ella!  Starting early...
First Inappropriate Gesture - Check

I thought we'd have a few more years before we had to worry about this stuff.
Great.

Four Weeks Old

Wednesday Ella was 4 weeks old...

And as usual, being uncooperative for her pictures...
But, I was able to get this...

I have a feeling this will get harder and harder...

Look how much she's changed!

Storytime

After bath time the other day, we got Ella dressed and then I walked out of the room.

When I came back in, Mike and Ella were having story time.

Mike didn't care that Ella wasn't paying attention...
haha

She was not looking at the book.  She may have been listening, but I think Mike was more interested in the Dr. Seuss stories than Ella at the time.

But her face was just too cute!
I can't wait to take more pictures next story time.

Three Weeks Old

Oh my Ella is getting bigger and older and changing so fast I can't even take it!

Today my baby is three weeks old.  I can't believe it.

She's also been really fussy today so please understand that this is the best picture we could get out of her!  I wish she were looking a little more head on, but what are you going to do?!?

And here's how the photo shoot really went...

No smiles or smirks today...

Happy Three Week Birthday Ella!

Two Weeks Old

Happy Belated Valentine's Day!

I know I'm late on this post and you'll realize it too when you see two posts today of weekly photos, but I'll try to get my act together and post our weekly photos on Thursdays from here on out.

Since Ella was two weeks old the day after Valentine's Day and we couldn't get a good picture on Valentine's Day, we went with this!

Too cute!  I love her little looks!
And am hoping she'll grow into her little chicken legs, but we love everything about her! :)

Happy Two Week Birthday Ella!

Snoring...

Last night Mr K was snoring in his sleep...
So, I touched his nose...
Barely, I might add...
And he took his arms and started batting away with them...
Like there were objects flying above him...
It was quite comical.

Wish I had my flip ready and recording...
But I didn't.
But now it sits bedside for just this reason...

Happy Friday!

One Week Old

Taking a page from John and Sherry over at Young House Love, I am taking a stab at weekly/monthly pictures of Ella on different fabrics.  They did this with their little Clara and they turned out too cute!

Now I don't have a great camera, and the lighting in my house is kinda crapola, but I'm going to try.

I had some leftover fabric from her sheets, cribskirt, and samples I'd ordered to see if we liked them.  I decided to start with an Ikat that we had.

Here she is...

And instead of using Photoshop to edit the pictures since I haven't quite figured out my version, or if it's even capaple of doing these types of things... I decided to use Picnik which has apparently been absorbed by Google, but until it goes away, this will be what I use to edit my pictures.

What do you think?
I am hoping they will get better with time.

She's Here...

I know this is a bit late, but because I'm going to try to post all things Ella on this blog, and I've been on a crazy schedule the last 2 weeks, I'm just now getting around to it.

We welcomed our little baby girl into our lives February 1st, 2012.

She's been a joy.
She's our little sleep and poop machine.

Mr. K is amazed at how many diapers she goes through.  He is constantly telling her "60 cents" whenever a diaper change is necessary.  Apparently he either heard this from someone or did a little math on his own.  It's actually quite hilarious.

We are thoroughly enjoying her and even though she's apparently inherited her great grandmother's and great grandfather's night owl genes.  She's wide awake usually from about 10-3.  Nice, I know.  The rest of the day she's sleeping.  We are hoping we get to see her big eyes more often soon!

Going Home

Thanks for all the kind posts and comments on our babe.  She's sure to make her way out and about soon... she can't keep still!  Even in her sleep, she's moving and kicking those legs!  :)  I'm sure she'll be a wild child!

Dreaming...NO

Ok... so the other night in his sleep, Mr. K, started yelling...

YES... YEA...
NO! NO! NO! NO!  <---really fast

What do you think he was thinking about?
I think he thought he was at the hockey game he had finished watching right before bed!  Because I swear he was yelling that same stuff out loud when he was awake.

Maybe I have my own Sleep Talkin' Man. Who knows?!?

We're Going to the 'Ship... Wah!

Well, that's right... We're going to the 'ship!  Wha!  We going to the ship!
Haven't you seen Hardball?  If not, please watch it!  Great movie, but that's what they sing... and it means they are going to the Champion ship game!

Mike's team - The Cathedral Chatard Park Tudor Hockey Club (combined 3 schools this year) - is going to the State Championship game this weekend!  Woot Woot! Can you tell I'm excited?  As you can see from the above picture, I do kinda have a kid on the team!

We are super excited!  Mike has been in the State Championship game with 'a' team 8 out of the last 9 years he's been coaching!  Can you believe that?!?  Woah.  Last year was the only time they didn't make it! He usually does good on his promise to get them there!  And I say 'a' team because he's coached the Arctic Blast, the Racers, the Jr. Ice, and Cathedral Chatard all since I met him 6 years ago... I'm probably missing someone in there too!

But here we are (again)!  The game is this Saturday and while they are playing their hearts out on one rink, I'll be teaching on the other... oh the life of a skating family!

Just a big good luck to the CCPTHC this weekend!  The Kellermeyer's are wishing you the best!

Complaining

Do you ever feel like all you hear are complaints?!  I do.

And I'm sure Mr. K feels the same way.
I'm constantly on him to put his shoes away, hang his keys up, pick up the dog poo (which he did for the 1st time since we've been in our house - I usually do it), etc... I'm working on it...

Recently (Monday) I rearranged our bedroom and I think I love it and Mr. K thinks he hates it!  All I hear about is how he can't sleep when I get up because the lights bother him and he doesn't like things in front of the window and we need more lighting and you name it, he's said it.

All I have to say is I probably agree with him on most of these things...
But I'm pretty sure the lights didn't bother him this morning as he was
SAWING LOGS and SNORING like I've never heard before!

I'm guessing it was fine last night, but I guess I have to wait until I get home tonight to see if he has complaints again tonight.  :)

Two's a Streak

This weekend Mike had some hockey games.

One my sister and I went to...
They won 7-5 (I think) and I honestly can't remember the last time they won so it was a big deal.
Lots of crazy calls. Very rough game.  Mike got a penalty.
This really bothers me when he gets penalties because they are usually because he's lost his temper at the ref who he clearly knows more about hockey than.  This time he "apparently" just said "you've got to be kidding me" and was given it.

Mike lost sleep over this win.  He was so pumped over it that he just kept tossing and turning all night.  I think when he did sleep, he probably fist pumped like they do in the Capitals Locker room when they win.  He's now addicted to fist pumping.

The second game I stayed home for.  I hate Sunday morning hockey games.  Yes, they make us get up and get out of bed, but we are usually up and out of bed anyways.  It just means that I can't relax on Sundays then.  So... I stayed home.  When Mike finally came home, all I heard was "Two's a Streak BABY!!!"  What and who did I marry?  And then came the fist pumps...

Apparently they all love it.  So, his team won 2 games this weekend, 4 points total, and got to fist pump.

Successful Hockey Weekend!

Now, if they win another one, we are hosting a pizza party for them?!?!  Yea, this was all Mike's idea.  I hope they win, but I am not sure what I'll do with 20 hockey boys in my house at one time!  AHHHH!!!

Lets Make a Deal

Most of you know that I'm a bit younger than Mike.  Like 7 years.
Yes, he robbed the cradle.

So when it comes to kids, we are a few pages apart from each other.  He's actually reading faster than me... I'm not quite on board yet.

So I made a deal with him.  Here are the things that must be in place for the Baby Bulletin to begin.

$7500 in the bank (savings)

Pottery Barn Glider purchased and in room
***Our office is already painted an elephant gray and we have the curtains to use in the nursery as well. I just didn't want to repaint or be wasteful so I did this room with it's later usage in mind.
**This will just be one piece of furniture off our list.

All bills up to date (which they are)

At least July (1 yr anniversary)

Fair?  I think so.

Out With a Bang

I know, I know... it's been a while.

I've come to the conclusion that until we have children (or lives) then posts will be few and far between.  I'll take our super boring non-dramatic life though...vs others that I hear about.  Boring and nothingness = OK.

So I haven't told you about a few things.

We'll start with the day after Christmas crisis.

I thought we'd make going ice skating the day after Christmas a tradition.  You know something fun to do since Mike and I are both professionals and we both teach it part-time and we are on the ice 7 days a week combined.  I thought it would be a good idea.

Well, maybe not so much.  We went with my family - brother, sister, mother, Mike's family - mom, dad, and my mom's friend Anne.  We were all having a good ol' time until my mother (who I am going to enter into Adult competitions - she's pretty good) wanted to learn how to do back crossovers.  So... Mike was teaching her.  He showed her how to do it and then skated off backwards... Just about the time that my brother had fallen almost directly behind him.

I was off the ice tying my sister's skates and we saw it all.  Ugh...

Michael had fallen just as Mike had skated back and it happened so quickly that there was no time to react on any part - me, Mike or Michael.  Mike was down.  And out.  And not moving.

I didn't go out immediately because I thought he was joking at first.
Nope.

I skated out there and he couldn't talk or move.  I've never been that scared in my life.  I thought oh my gosh, he's paralyzed.  What will we do?  But none of this showed on my face.  I just talked him through it.  I had him grab my hand and squeeze and then he finally after a couple of attempts told me he couldn't move so we had him move his legs and he did (THANK GOD).  I had him lay there for a few minutes until we were sure he was semi-OK to get up.  I skated him off the ice after he thought he could do it himself and couldn't keep his balance.

He had the largest nugget on the back of his head I've ever felt.  I mean this was the hardest I've ever seen anyone fall.  I think there were 2 items in play that helped his noggin immensely.  1- his hat.  While it wasnt' very cushion-y when I came to check on him it was neatly folded in half directly under his head.  I think this was a blessing in disguise.  I believe it prevented him from getting an actual cut and needing stitches and instead just allowed a few scrapes on his head.  2- His North Face Jacket.  I know this is going to sound dumb but it's one with the hood folded into the collar and I think it acted as a sort of brace.  I knew I loved The North Face, but now I know why!

He couldn't remember some things at first, but they slowly came back to him.

Now, I know you are probably thinking....why didn't they go to the hospital?  That was my thought too.  We should go to the hospital.  Well, Mike didn't have insurance coverage until Jan 2nd due to a few mishaps at my workplace.  His paperwork was not properly processed initially and so we had to wait and have him fall into my coverage during open enrollment and his coverage had not yet started.  I know, right?!  What bad luck.  But when Mike and I go ice skating (which is rare), it doesn't even cross our minds that we'll be the ones to get hurt.

So needless to say, 2010 went out with a bang.  A really big bang on the hard cold ice.  A really really big bang to The Kellermeyers.

Thank god though, he is OK and well now.

-- Good Mooning --

We got a major snowstorm (major exaggeration) this past weekend and it actually was still snowing Monday morning when I left for San Diego.

Mike cleared off my car and even warmed it up for me as it had been sitting all weekend.  He loaded all my luggage and gave me a kiss goodbye.  Muah!

I called him as soon as I had left and driven down the alley because I forgot my wedding ring.  When I do the dishes I put it in a dish to the side of the sink so that it doesn't slip off my finger.  So I drove around front and then back down the alley so that he could bring it to me.

Oh... he brought it to me.
It was -4 degrees windchill, probably 12 degrees and snowing and here he comes...
Running out in a t-shirt and his underwear and his duck shoes... OMG!!!
I was laughing so hard!!!
Then on the way back into the garage he mooned me.

Anyone else have a husband that is this immature?

Tape It

Yesterday Mike and I went out shopping.

We had a game plan.

Sam's Club - no particular reason.  Mike wanted lunch.  Lunch = samples during lunch hours.
Menard's - look at Christmas lights and get air filters.
Stop by Grandparents - just to say hi.
The North Face - to look at gloves.
Dicks - to look at gloves.
Target - Grocery Shop and look at Christmas lights.

We left at 12 noon.  We had just gotten in from taking the dogs out in the snow - because they love it - and I'd defrosted Louie who had ice balls hanging from all over him.

Mike usually takes his shoes downstairs with him to put them on.  Well today was no exception... but he had his MASSIVE boots.  He said they were necessary.  I though whatever.  But then he asked me... should I tuck my jeans into my boots or leave them out?  I thought this was an odd question...how often do you see MEN tuck their pants into their boots?  I said I don't care.  So then...he says well, my socks usually fall down so if I don't tuck my pants in, the boots will rub on my legs and that hurts.  I again said, I don't care and walked up the stairs.

When I came down again, he had his hockey tape out and I was a bit confused.
What are you doing?
Taping my socks up.
Why?  Wait, what?
Taping my socks up...
I thought the only place people taped their socks up was in hockey and soccer?
No...
Do you know anyone else who does this?
No...

And here is what I'm talking about...

Yes, really. My husband taped his white socks up to prevent chaffing around the legs...  Wow.  I guess it works and is a creative way of using what you've got, but I mean seriously?

We returned at 5pm.  Ugh.  Long Day but no chaffing!

-- Thanksgiving --

Do you ever feel like going home takes everything out of you?  Well, I spent my weekend at home with my family, but with Mike and he spent it without me and the dogs.

Bummer.

I think that is a first... for that arrangement.  Usually it's me gone with him home with the dogs or him gone with me home with the dogs, but never has it been me away with the dogs and him at home...

Yes, it was weird.

AND to top it all off, I forgot my wedding ring when we left so I went all weekend NAKED without it.  Oh well.  You win some, You lose some, right?!

I hope it was a Happy Thanksgiving for all!

Be sure to check out the latest giveaway over at Little Miss Martha today... :)  Here it is.

Happy Thanksgiving

Well, last night Mr. K and I spent the night alone at our childhood homes!  It was the first time we've done that since the wedding.

I'm cooking at my mom's and his mom is cooking at their house.  This morning we have been cooking and cleaning.  Thanksgiving at my house went from 6 people to 11.  Nice.  So now I have to double my stuffing recipe and I've already made one batch.  It's the best stuffing!  I love it!

So we are off to walmart...what a surprise!

Happy Thanksgiving... at the minute I'm thankful  for stores being open, however I know the workers aren't that way.... I feel bad.  But I am thankful for my lovely husband, my family, that my sister is home for the holiday, that my dad can stay home with us, my friends, my puppies, and this wonderful food we are about to eat!

Picture Time

While grabbing the camera for another reason this happened!
Not sure why I'm suprised...

Just Kidding Around!  Although, Mr. Hockey does look a little scary there!

Well, I thought I'd save the best for last....even though it's not really great at all!

Did you think I meant professional pictures... no no no.
