King of Kong

I think it was last Thursday night...
I came downstairs around 11 or so to see where Mike was.  Obviously it was bed time.
There was this really strange movie on.  It was like they were in an arcade.  The only problem was that there as this one man, Steve, who wasn't so nerdy like the rest.
Of course I sat down, intrigued by the huge glasses, cuffed jeans, and mullets.

The movie was called King of Kong - A Fist Full of Quarters... now a new favorite.
Long story short, Mike was watching a documentary on Donkey Kong and one particular battle to get the high score at Fun Spot and LIVE.

Of course drama unfolds and the nerds are like a group of cool kids who don't want to let anyone in...  There are even referees to make sure everything is good and legal and no cheating is involved.  The refs are from Twin Galaxies.   It's really unbelievable.

Mike loves this movie so much of that we showed it to our guest on Saturday night.

"Possible Donkey Kong kill screen coming up if anyone is interested."

I think it's Mike's new obsession.  Someday I'm sure we'll have an Old School Donkey Kong or Pac Man video arcade game in our garage so that Mike can go attempt to beat a high score at a Fun Spot Arcade and become a part of this random culture.

Let's Watch A Movie, Or Not

Saturday night we sat down to watch a movie.  I think we cleaned RedBox out.  We rented 3.  But, we had put "When in Rome" in the DVD player and were prepared to watch it.

I think the movie was about 20 minutes in when this happened.

Wait! Where did the TV go?!

Oh, there is it!  Mike's got it.
On the floor.
Trying to fix the tilt.
Really?!  Right now?!

After about 40 minutes at least of trying to take off the stand and then put it back on so that the TV didn't lean again, we were back on track.  The TV was back in it's place.

But now we had a visitor.  :)

We finished the movie Sunday morning.

Coffee

Last night I was too lazy to set up the coffee maker so I made Mike do it.

I think that's why he wanted the Keurig, so he could make a good cup of coffee everyday.

But now we have a cuisinart regular coffee maker.

FAIL. (I still love you Mr. K)

Now sitting at work, drinking my coffee, I remember why I set the coffee maker and not Mike.

PIE

Pizza Pie... that is.

We got a KitchenAid Mixer for a wedding present. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa. Tuesday Mr. K broke it out to make some pizza dough. THE BEST PIZZA DOUGH EVER...or at least that what he said about every 5 minutes while making it.

Wednesday, he put the pie together. Homemade sauce, peperoni, mushrooms, and mozzarella cheese. YUMMM!

Then we ate it.

Everything he makes is GREAT!!!  Why can't I cook like him?

BEEP

I think Mr. K can sleep through anything!

Last night around 3:30am our smoke detector decided that it's batteries were low.  It decided to beep for the entire rest of my sleep making it not much sleep at all!  But when it woke me up, I swear Mr. K could have slept through it for the entire night!  I had no idea what it was at first and having been gone for a week I was still trying to get used to my house again so I tried to think of all the things that could be randomly beeping.

After finally waking him up, he went to the hallway and checked it out.  It was the smoke alarm and while checking it out, he also set the alarms.  And we have those smoke detectors that are somehow connected to each other so they all started to go off.  I felt like I was in a tunnel where the sound was all around me!  Then he got them to stop fully going off, but never got rid of the beep.

And he went right back to sleep.

Nice...

The Honeymoon

Today we had trouble picking a place to eat for lunch.  This is a becoming a regular occurrence.  All Mr. K ever wants to eat is pizza and that is the problem.  I don't really like Pizza.  I don't like Pizza for every meal.
Nor do I like BBQ for every meal.  We've had BBQ on the last 2 "adventure" trips we took here in Aruba.  That's right, I'm blogging right now from the Hyatt hotel lobby overlooking the beach and beautifully calm ocean in Aruba.  This place really is a treat!

But here are some video highlights from our adventure on the Jolly Rodger yesterday.  It was a ton of fun.  GREAT snorkeling sights and rope swinging

Here's Mike's turn on the Rope Swing:

And then it was my turn... Couldn't let him show me up!

I tried to do a spin...unsuccessful!

Finally

Ok, so I'm a little bit late.  But...it's worth it!  I promise!

The wedding went off without a hitch...so of course now we are on our honeymoon in Aruba.  Mr. & Mrs. H....oops I mean Mr. & Mrs. K.  Actually down here we are always Mr. & Mrs. H because I made the reservations under my name, but also told them it was our honeymoon so they are very confused.

But...here's what is worth the wait.

Our DJ, All Star DJs...who by the way, did an AWESOME JOB!!!  I would recommend them to anyone!  Anyways, Nico put together a nice little you-tube video for us.... Click here to see it.  And here's our first night at Mr. & Mrs. K!!!  Enjoy...
